Yolanda reached peak winds of 315 km/h, making it one of the most powerful storms ever recorded globally, causing catastrophic damage in Eastern Visayas. Odette, though slightly weaker, still had sustained winds of 195 km/h and intensified quickly before landfall, devastating the Visayas and Mindanao regions. Uwan,185–205 km/h (115–127 mph)  a more recent storm, strengthened rapidly due to favorable warm sea surface temperatures and low wind shear, reaching super typhoon status, with significant rainfall and flooding across affected areas.
