LIVING THE NIGHTMARE
Jun Abines
If there is any consolation to most Filipinos about the nightmare they are witnessing under the Marcos-Romualdez-Araneta regime, that is the fact that it awakens them from the illusions that we lived in a democratic country.
In just a span of two years, the Marcos-Romualdez-Araneta tyranny was able to consolidate all the greedy parasites that made Philippines and Filipinos a poor country for a long time despite its having rich natural resources and very skilled and talented people.
There's an undisguised alliance of corrupt government officials with the media, the Catholic Church, the CPP-NPA-NDF, the Druglords, the Criminal syndicates and the Oligarchs to suck dry the Filipino nation.
Our government money is now being hijacked upfront. Under the leadership of Speaker Martin Romualdez, the House of Representatives openly stole our money for everyone to see. Our government properties are sold to oligarchs with no transparency. No cover, no disguise and no hesitation. Just pure guts and boldness by PBBM administration with no fear of being caught in Flagrante Delicto.
Any college graduate or even high school graduate can readily conclude that almost everything the PBBM Administration is doing is wrong and against the welfare of the Filipino people. The Filipino nation is being molested, raped, violated and disrespected as we speak.
Yet no action, no rescue, and no one is coming to stop the Marcos-Romualdez-Araneta tyranny. The very institutions that our Constitution assigned to safeguard the welfare of the Filipinos are now being bought with stolen money from government coffers.
The Philippines we once believed to be a republic and a democratic is now literally disintegrating and melting right before our very eyes. The hopes and dreams of every Filipinos to see a progressive Philippines just shattered. The feeling is worse than losing one's job, breaking from a relationship or failing board exam. The future of our children and grandchildren are now dim. Almost hopeless.
The greed of Marcoses, Romualdezes and Araneta's are unchecked. They have totally underestimated the Filipino people to rise up against them and the possibility of them getting erased in the face of the Earth.
Most of our PNP Generals are already bought and paid with stolen money. Most of our AFP Generals are bought, blackmailed or being silenced. But 90 percent of our Police and Military personnel are not happy with what's happening.
The Marcoses, the Romualdezes and the Aranatas may survived a year or a decade. But the pain, the insults, the disrespect and the crimes they did to the Filipinos will not be forgotten. One day, the Filipino will rise and not one of them will be spared.
For now, let us wait for the Filipino to unite. Let us wait for the AFP and PNP to gain the courage to step up. It took 20 years for the Filipino to kick the Ferdinand E. Marcos from tyranny. Let see if we allow his son, Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr to stay 20 years like his father.
The problem of the Philippines is not President Marcos Jr. The problem are the Filipino people themselves. We allow thieves and criminals to rule and lord this country.
