Philippines is now in its darkest times. It's sovereignty and democracy are now under siege physically and figuratively from enemies within. Its 1986 Constitutions is now mocked, trampled and violated many times over by the very people whom we vote and entrust to protect it.
The Filipinos felt helpless. They can only watched in shock on how the President Marcos Jr. in partnership with his cousin Speaker Martin Romualdez easily consolidate the Executive and Legislative Departments into co- conspirators and their partners in crime.
Malacanang and Congress were supposed to be co-equal, separate institutions that needs to play check and balance with each other to prevent concentration of power in one or few persons. This is no longer the case.
The Judiciary Department which was supposedly the third independent Institution and final arbiter of our Laws and the Constitution was easily neutralized. Through hideous schemes and blackmails, the Judiciary is now blind as the lady justice, silent as a tomb and oblivious as an innocent child. Useless as a broken surveillance camera.
Marcos Jr. and Martin Romualdez successfully infiltrated and compromised the inner workings of our 1986 Constitution. They are like the mythical villain Thanos possessing all the rings of powers from Executive, Legislative and Judiciary. An absolute power to do what they want.
In the last two and a half years, the cousins and the first lady did not hesitate to grab power, money and control. They assign all friends and allies to juicy spots and positions and take whatever they can straight to their pockets. Planes full of cash and golds were shipped abroad as they wine and dine with the biggest criminals in the globe.
The greed of the cousins and the first lady are beyond compare. They were not happy nor contented in lording over customs, BIR, smuggling and monopoly of key goods and industries. They also dip their hands into the people's pension from GSIS, SSS, Philhealth, Pagibig and PDIC. Nothing is sacred or holy to them.
Now they are setting their eyes on the 2025 National Budget P6.3 Trillion. They aim to pocket hundreds of billions of that budget by mere paper works and scheme.
Any decent educated Filipino watching how the Marcos and Romualdez family violate our Constitution and plunder our government will get a heart attack many times over. The robbery in plain sight is too much to bear.
Our country is systematically destroyed from within with no help or solution in sight. Our government is bleeding dry morally and financially heading toward certain collapse and bankruptcy.
Many cry in silence. Many tried to shout "Robbery!" on top of their lungs. Many just watch in shock.
Surely the Filipinos are not asleep. Surely the Filipinos are not cowards. Surely the Filipino knows they are being robbed, raped, mugged and slowly tied with both their hands and feet to be murdered soon.
We do not know what to do. We are afraid to react. We are trying to 'think' of what is the right thing to do instead of 'act" directly from the assault happening right before our very eyes.
In these darkest moment of our democracy, the Filipino People are being tested if we truly deserve freedom by turning our ideals and belief into action.
President Marcos Jr., Speaker Romualdez and First Lady Liza is mocking the whole 120 Million Filipinos. Daring us to prove we deserve freedom and respect of the whole world as a people.
I believe we Filipinos are all brave and eager to march forward. All we need is for that one or few bravest among us to fearlessly cross the line.
The challenge to each Filipino is not about fighting or not fighting. It's not about dying or not dying. Its not about winning or losing against these tyrant plunderers.
The true question that we need to ask our hearts and conscience is this: Will we allow the Marcoses and Romualdezes to rob the future and enslave our children and grand children without putting up a good fight?
