DAVAO'S TRIBUTE TO A HOMETOWN HERO
This was more than just a typical birthday celebration; it was a bold statement—a clear message that the people of Davao City will no longer stand idly by.
Beyond the political persecution of a beloved hometown hero, what’s truly at stake is the future of our country.
The people of Davao are rising up.
The greatest mistake of those who believe they are untouchable in their high towers is committing injustice and abusing power against someone who holds the shattered pieces of a broken republic.
Rodrigo Roa Duterte is not the old, frail has-been they once believed him to be.
He is a symbol of hope—an embodiment of a government that was concerned, courageous, and caring. May Tapang at Malasakit.
Though his term may have ended in 2022, his legacy lives on in the collective memory of the Filipino people.
He is the president who ended the "tanim-bala", who championed the rights of OFWs, who took a stand against the oligarchy, and who confronted the powerful bullies that sought to dominate our nation.
He is a father to both a city and a nation, one that has mourned the cruel fate he suffered at the hands of a puppet government that continues to evade accountability for the issues that have eroded its credibility and any semblance of trustworthiness.
When the streets and avenues of Davao City’s business district overflowed with a sea of humanity, it wasn’t just a tribute to a beloved Former President, Rodrigo Duterte, on his 80th birthday.
It was a resounding message to the world: this time, the movement rests on our shoulders.
We will never stop.We will never back down.
