Judging from the huge crowds here and abroad in protest and prayer rallies that expressed their support for former Philippine president Rodrigo Roa Duterte, it’s a safe bet the most disliked figures in the Philippines, to put it mildly, are Bongbong Marcos, the butt of many jokes, Liza his wife who waggles like a duck when she walks, House Speaker Martin Romualdez known as Power Hungry Tamby, PNP Gen. Nicolas Torre, the hatchet man, NSA adviser Eduardo Ano, Defense Sec. Gibo Teodoro and DILG Sec. Jonvic Remulla, now called traitors who betrayed Duterte to the ICC. Not far behind is Senate president Chiz Escudero, Liza’s wine waiter, who is pushing for the impeachment of VP Inday Sara.
I had said in an early SMNI interview before Duterte was handed over to the ICC that the popularity rating of Bongbong Marcos was down to 10%. Today, I wouldn’t be surprised if it stood at 6%. Of course we can expect paid Malacanang surveys to show that Bongbong’s popularity has risen to 60%. With an average of 1,200 to 1,500 respondents supposedly interviewed in those surveys, who will believe them compared to the millions around the world who rallied behind Duterte? This is pure common sense. One doesn’t need surveys to show what is evident to the naked eye today.
I had always said those sycophants around Bongbong are too dumb not to see the obvious. They are so blinded by power and greed that even should one day the corrupt face a firing squad, they would still be shouting “BBM pa rin, ang bala tanim!”
Like the Democrats in the US, the onslaught of Trump’s sledgehammers placed them in disarray. What Bongbong and his cohorts did to Duterte is to turn Duterte into a martyr, a symbol millions of Filipinos rallied around triggering the beginning of People Power. In that sense, they did Duterte an enormous favor. They did the Filipinos a big favor. They united patriots towards a common cause, the salvation of the country from the insanity of Coke lovers. They will continue making mistakes that will culminate in their downfall and the purification of our country from demons. God has always been in control. The Good Lord heard our prayers. Watch what happens in the coming days. This is why I said, “Stay cool, the day of God’s reckoning is near. Trust the Lord. He knows what He is doing.
