RADO GATCHALIAN

Rado Gatchalian is deeply immersed into the challenging and rather frustrating though life-relishing process of proselytizing the Filipino community by writing poetry and unstoppably reciting them live or broadcasting on community radios then publishing on community tabloids vis-à-vis online blog. At the same time, he draws vitality and inspiration from the encouragements of audiences whilst exposing them to an alternative higher, serious art thus offering a balanced diet to the commodified pop songs and dances inundating the community. 

His regular journalistic output (essays and regular monthly columns at Philippine Community Herald) are mostly couched in and promoting our original romantic Mother tongue that reeks of critical lamentations for his kababayans human foibles and socio-cultural and political conflicts.  

His sterling qualities admirably shaped by his true blue provincial moorings shone through his college education at University of Luzon, Dagupan City, Pangasinan, recognizing him as an outstanding alumnus carrying the torch of values education on which he was grounded and eventually taught academically apart from lighting the space on which his poetry spreads – touching hearts, opening eyes, and ringing in the realm of the senses.  

A passionate Rizalist, he has researched thoroughly on the life, time, and literary works of our national hero collected in two books yet in PDF version awaiting publication: “And When My Grave is Wholly Unremembered...” , followed by “The Medallion– A Gift to the Order”.

His famous Facebook blog and group page known as “The FILOsopher” renders his constant phylosophizing digestible to all ages for they are replete with food for thought and avid readers are palpably contaminated by his patriotism and national ideals that likewise fires this poet of the people.
