PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF MINDANAO

WE, the Sovereign People of Mindanao, made up of Christian and Islamic faiths worshipping the same God whose aid and guidance we implore, desirous of building a just and humane society free of corruption and evil, in accordance with the right of self-determination under the UN Charter and the right to befriend and live in peace with all nations, do hereby establish a Federal State and Government that embody our ideals and aspirations, promote the general welfare of our people, conserve and develop our patrimony to benefit them, and secure the blessings of Almighty God.
