Alex Eala is In! The Filipino Phenom Qualifies for the so called "5th Grand Slam"

Alex Eala is once again set to compete on one of the biggest stages in the world, outside of the four Grand Slams.

The 20-year-old Filipino sensation has officially entered the main draw of the 2026 BNP Paribas Open, better known as the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament in California. This prestigious event, famously nicknamed "Tennis Paradise," will run from March 4 to March 15.

📌 Why Indian Wells is Called the "Fifth Grand Slam"

Make no mistake, this is NOT your average tournament. Indian Wells is widely considered the most prestigious tennis tournament outside of the Grand Slams, and here’s why:

✅ The Second-Largest Stadium in the World. Its main stadium, Stadium 1, holds a massive 16,000 spectators, bigger than most Grand Slam courts and second only to the US Open's Arthur Ashe Stadium .
