THE MAN WHO GIVE OUR COUNTRY BACK TO THE FILIPINO PEOPLE

By Caloy Bueno

This is The Man. He gave our country back to its true owners ~ the Filipino people . . .

Our country had been held in political, economic, social, and even religious bondage to the yellow elites ~ who only accorded lip service to the poor that comprised the majority of the people, and exploited the middle class that served as their indentured skilled workers that provided the main backbone for our society's continued economic survival. Many of our poorest of the poor worked the fields in the countryside on a bleak hand-to-mouth existence; while the other half of the poor in the urban centers provided most of the cheap manual labor in menial jobs, or eked out their livelihoods as barely-surviving informal micro enterprises.

But the ruling elites, on the other hand, were disdainfully proud of their sophisticated urbanity, their ostentatious displays of wealth, their arrogant manifestations of class privilege ~ and even celebrated their inhumanity to their neglected countrymen through their unconscionably bad governance practices and bald-faced incompetence, shameless corruption and unbridled greed in plundering public funds from the taxes remitted by the majority of the Filipino people ~ taxes that they bled and cried, endlessly labored and sweated for, to pay to their uncaring government.

But The Man saw the sufferings of his people, and finally could stand it no more. He had to make a stand for and with them, and what better way to do it effectively ~ than to stand strong as the President of the whole country?

The rest is now history ~ the glorious days of a modern-day 'renaissance' for the Filipinos, known as the heroic administration of Rodrigo Roa Duterte, 16th President of our Republic. The Man had presidentially parlayed the innate resilience and unvanquished sovereign will of all law-abiding Filipinos into a resurgent force for our strong revitalization, who are now standing proud with new-found faith in and greater love for the country of our birth, the cradle of our dreams and ambitions for our children's more hopeful future.

We owe this man a debt we can never repay ~ but the only gratitude and appreciation he will accept is our solemn promise not to throw away everything he had worked hard to accomplish in our name, for our welfare and benefit ~ indeed for the good of all of us . . .
