Badjau
Old Manila
By Del R Nanoz
Known as "sea nomads," the Bajau people have been living in boats or ocean dwellings on the waters of Southeast Asia for centuries without a homeland to call their own. Though they spend up to five hours a day underwater, diving to depths of more than 200 feet, they have little sense of time or age, with virtually no calendars, clocks, or birthdays. They've since evolved to have internal organs and physical capabilities unlike our own and are the last of their kind on Earth.
