PEARL

Image
Lifted from FB 21 March 2024 “Did you know….An oyster that has not been wounded in any way does not produce pearls? A pearl is a healed wound. Pearls are a product of pain, the result of a foreign or unwanted substance entering the oyster, such as a parasite or a grain of sand. The inside of an oyster shell is a shiny substance called “nacre.” When a grain of sand enters, the nacre cells go to work & cover the grain of sand with layers & more layers to protect the defenseless body from the oyster. As a result, a beautiful pearl is formed! The more pearls, the more valuable… GOD never allows pain without a purpose. What if your greatest ministry to others comes out of your greatest hurt ? The hard things we may be going through now are really nothing in comparison to the glory that will be revealed in us later. (Romans 8:17-18)” 🤍-Author Unknown

SINO SI #JABIDAH?

Image
Lifted from #DUOI_AMPILAN 16 March 2024  SINO SI #JABIDAH?

DIANA AMAMIO ANZALONE: "Our pride “Chocolate Hills” considered by foreign tourists as one of the many wonders of the world and supposedly protected and preserved, is now corrupted by local politicians allowing the construction of this resort! This will eventually destroy the scenic beauty of the area if allowed and continued!😠🙄 This should be stopped immediately!😠" - 14 March 2024 Her reaction to Philippine Star article on BOHOL CHOCOLATE HILLS  'IT DESTROYS THE BEAUTY OF NATURE' This was the concern of some netizens in the comments section of an adventurer's post which featured a resort located at the center of Chocolate Hills in Bohol. Called Captain's Peak, the resort has a rectangular swimming pool attached with slides, and a few umbrellas providing shade for visitors. Cemented steps and other decorations are also installed in the area. This, however, did not sit well with netizens who saw the video. "Not a good idea. It destroys the beauty of natu

BOHOL: CHOCOLATE HILLS

Image
Repost from FB 14 March 2024 Posted by Balik Tanaw at Alaala The Chocolate Hills (Cebuano: Mga Bungtod sa Tsokolate, Filipino: Mga Tsokolateng Burol) are a geological formation in the Bohol province of the Philippines. There are at least 1,260 hills, but there may be as many as 1,776 hills spread over an area of more than 50 square kilometers (20 sq mi). They are covered in green grass that turns brown during the dry season, hence the name. The Chocolate Hills are a famous tourist attraction in Bohol. They are featured in the provincial flag and seal to symbolize the abundance of natural attractions in the province. They are in the Philippine Tourism Authority's list of tourist destinations in the Philippines; they have been declared the country's third National Geological Monument and proposed for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Lifted from Philippines, My Philippines 13 March 2024 Marang (Artocarpus odoratissimus) is a naturalized, evergreen, fruit-bearing tree species that can grow up to 25 m in height.  Marang belongs to the genus Artocarpus, which includes Langka (A. heterophyllus), Rima (A. altilis), Kamansi (A. camansi), Antipolo (A. blancoi), and Gumihan A. sericicarpus).  This specie is cultivated in many provinces in the Philippines for its edible fruit, considered one of the superior-tasting Artocarpus fruits. CHARACTERISTICS/PROPERTIES: The fruit, round or oblong in shape, has distinct proad hairs that become brittle with maturity.  It also emits a chemical-like odor that intensifies as it ripens, hence its scientific name. Marang is popularly enjoyed as a dessert fruit. However, unripe or immature marang can be cooked as

THE EVOLUTION OF TIME

Image
By Rado Gatchalian The Evolution of Time Poem and photography by Rado Gatchalian In the beginning was the Word, and for all eternity and reason — it remains countless one and many: those particles, seen and unseen, all glory to the sun and moon, of day and night, now and tomorrow. Through the ages: everyone departs, and only Time persists. Like sweet flowers in the ocean it rises against waves of irresistible power of Nature: Yet it dies… but that moment, when its petals open like a newborn child, lives forever. Time and time again, we come and go, we say hello, we say goodbye… Again and again like a dejavu. Tomorrow when everything is lost, when all bones are scattered as dust, it consumes all breath of Life — from Past to Present: all are here, one and all. Time is sacred; so little yet eternal… when all of us expire, Memory lives on. Like all passing through, when footprints become our sole witness, he who remembers becomes flowers that never wither in all seasons.
