A Nation Misled

31 August 2024 Lifted from fb A Nation Misled: The US Obsession with China at the Expense of its Own People By Global Times and Bradley Blankenship, August 29, 2024 IN recent years, an unsettling trend has emerged in the United States: lawmakers seem more preoccupied with crafting proposals and bills aimed at countering China than addressing the pressing issues facing their own constituents. This phenomenon is not only evident but also increasingly alarming. It underscores a troubling reality that for many US politicians, the pursuit of political interests and competition trumps the welfare of the American people. This commentary seeks to unpack why this is happening, why "People First" never seems to cross the minds of US politicians, and how this neglect will ultimately seriously impact the country. The China obsession: A convenient distraction The fixation on China can be seen as a convenient distraction from domestic issues. It allows lawmakers to rally public support and

After the stupid Congress led by the young goons and the mouthpiece of Martin Romualdez gang up on her? Pinagtulungang batikusin at tirahin kaliwa't kanan! After this idiotic government slacked off and put our country to shambles and destroyed what her father have started? After the PNP power played and harassed her, her family and Davao City? After NAIA compromised her and her family's security? After the mainstream media deliberately put her into the limelight and repeatedly made her a subject for insults?  After Hontiveros' recent pronouncement about her family painting them as evil and corrupt and intended to bring her down? PNP: PULIS NG PILIPINAS

31 August 2024 Lifted from Tessa Roines  If the PNP are offended being called "largest organised crime group in the country", I'd like to know how do they consider the behaviour of more or less 3 thousand policemen under the command of PNP Regional Director General Nicolas Torre at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound in Davao City? The world is/was watching and appalled of how the said police group treated the missionaries. They were hit with truncheon, cans of teargas were thrown at them, and putting some members in handcuffs. Their numbers alone in full battle gears is enough to give the owners and occupants of the 30 hectares compound and more specifically their house of worship. If the. trending deliberate chaos and watched by millions in social media is not a serious breach of your sworn duties, I don't know what is.. The policemen who are now occupying KOJC are all hauled from different regions is evident enough for your organisation to be called such...  I gue

KALAGAN: INDIGENOUS PILIPINO

Image
31 August 2024 By Joel Lopez The Kalagan people, also spelled Kagan, Kaagan, or Caragan by the Spanish, are an indigenous group in the Philippines, primarily residing in the Davao region of Mindanao. They are a subgroup of the larger Mandaya-Mansaka people, known for their distinct language and cultural practices.    Origins and History   The Kalagan are believed to be descendants of early Malay peoples who migrated to the Philippines from Southeast Asia thousands of years ago. Their history is intertwined with the surrounding Mandaya and Mansaka groups, with whom they share cultural and linguistic similarities.   Subgroups and Distribution   The Kalagan comprise three main subgroups: the Tagakaulo, the Kagan, and the Kal'lao people of Samal Island. They are found in various provinces of the Davao region, including Davao del Sur, Compostela Valley, Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, and North Cotabato. Their territory lies between the coastal areas and the inland territories of the B

DESTROYING HIS OWN PEOPLE

30 August 2024 From Jun Avelino  On Pastor Quiboloy and his constitutional right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty The ruckus in Davao city as initiated by the administration’s attack dog, General Torre, has now become a monumental example of how a President of the country destroys his own people, mock the court orders, rule by deception in an attempt to intimidate and even annihilate his political nemesis in wanton disregard of the constitutionally guaranteed bill of rights of every citizen of which the President has sworn to protect and uphold.  The public should know that at this point in time, Pastor Quiboloy is just accused of committing a crime. He is not yet guilty as maliciously portrayed by this administration. When the Pasig Court issued a warrant for his arrest, it does not mean the court has already found him guilty. The court merely wants to acquire jurisdiction over his person and that is why in serving the warrant of arrest, the arresting officers are mandated

MASTERMIND OF POLITICAL CHAOS

31 August 2024 Just forwarding what was shared. REPOST The Real Mastermind of Political Chaos – Speaker Martin Romualdez’s Relentless Ambition By OPTIC Politics —Analysis It all started with a question that dared to challenge the seemingly untouchable—a question posed by SMNI about the staggering P1.8 billion travel allowance of Speaker Martin Romualdez. Instead of transparency and accountability, the response from Congress was swift and ruthless. What followed was not just a series of congressional investigations targeting SMNI, but a chilling display of power meant to silence dissent and tighten Romualdez’s grip on the political landscape. Congress, under Romualdez’s command, went after SMNI with a vengeance. Anchors Ka Eric and Dr. Lorraine Badoy found themselves detained after being held in contempt—a move designed to send a clear message to anyone daring to question the Speaker. The situation escalated further when an agency under the executive branch, likely acting under congress

GREED, MONEY AND POWER

Image
30 August 2024 By Romeo Caylo Jr. Social media and the people set the limits of the mainstream media's mind control. Inevitably, the people point to Malacanang as  responsible for the excesses of the media and their elite gang controllers. Former President Duterte predicted that President Marcos might end up like his father who was ousted from power. That may be so but for a different reason. In the case of the late President Marcos, the U.S. ousted him with the aid of the international media and the participation of some Filipinos. The U. S. motive: Marcos, with his drive for industrialization, went against the U.S.'s design to make the Filipinos poor always, a design expressed in its National Security Study Memorandum 200.  In the case of the present President Marcos, the Filipino people may oust him because of his slavery to the U.S. and his elite gang's greed for money and power, slavery and greed that curtail the people's political, economic, and religious freedoms

A SHORT BIOGRAPHY OF DR. JOSE P. RIZAL

Image
Lifted from the post of RG 30 August 2024 A SHORT BIOGRAPHY OF DR. JOSE P. RIZAL Written by Rado Gatchalian, KOR Knights of Rizal — Northern Sydney Chapter   In the history of the Philippines and among Filipinos, past and present, there is but one man of great importance as an icon of the nation and perhaps the heart and soul and (re)birth of this country - Dr. Jose P. Rizal.   Jose Rizal was born on 19 June 1861 in Calamba, Laguna.   But more than his birth, it was his death, his martyrdom, on 30 December 1896 that truly sparked the “birth” of the Philippines as a free country. His death, and his great productive life, inspired many Filipinos to dedicate a life of excellence and service to the country and humanity.   Rizal was shot to death at Bagumbayan - now known as the Luneta Park in Manila - for inciting rebellion: a false accusation. Nevertheless, that fed the aim of the tyrannical colonizers. His two novels Noli Me Tangere (Touch Me Not; also known as The Social Cancer) and El

Katotohanan o katanyagan?

THE REPUBLIC

Lifted from INTROVERT UNIVERSE 29 August 2024 The Republic by Plato: A Comprehensive Overview Introduction: *The Republic* is one of Plato's most renowned works, a profound philosophical dialogue that delves into the nature of justice, the ideal state, and the individual's role within society. 29 August 2024 KitKat Iring - Sa akong edad, I have to be rationale and to remind myself nga what is actively happening now is part of the worldly scheme that people behind run it. Makalolooy indeed ang di makadagan. This has been warned through time and history, pero di lagi ta maminaw to that specific voice. I didn't expect I would witness these things unfolding before my eyes. Therefore I need to be alert and vigilant. Magbasa ko but I tried to watch my emotion and not to be caught up emotionally. Much as I feel sorry for my country, I can't help feeling patriotic over my time and again about how the government oppressed Mindanao. That's undeniably demonstrated by how Luzonians treated us. Mindanao is an island of fierce people. Way kahadlok ug dili mahadlok. Akong pilion kinsay akong tubayan kay sa akong mabasahan, mga tawong gangalngal ug gahalhal mga idyats ug mentality. ERRINGS: "LECHE PLAN"

28 August 2024 The Kangaroo Hearing: A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing By Mike FW Waldorf The introduction promises a noble pursuit - seeking expert insights to aid legislation. However, upon entering the fray, you're met with a pack of predators eager to pounce. Armed with 20 chapters of prepared attacks, they seek to devour your reputation. As the Vice President, you're the main course on the menu. You narrowly escape their claws and attacks, battered but alive. The ordeal is far from over; more challenges lie ahead. Remember to stay vigilant and get inside their playbook. VP Inday Sara Duterte, the truth is stark - these hearings are in aid of persecution, and they will stick to their plan.

CROSSING THE RUBOCON

Image
28 August 2028 By Jay Sonza 28 August 2024 Sara crosses her Rubicon By Chito A. Fuentes  Aug. 27 was the day Vice-President Sara Duterte crossed her Rubicon.  Vice-President Inday threw all caution to the winds, not giving in an inch in her verbal jousts with 47 solons itching to skin her alive. In what seemed like a coming out party to many Filipinos, the country’s most popular elected official made it clear that she would not be a party to her own political funeral.   Holding session in their homecourt, the solons had everything to their advantage but she took all that away by singlehandedly fielding all the flaming arrows thrown at her. They came prepared, but she was head and shoulders above them. They tried to force her to fit into their narrative but she extricated herself each time.  Vice-President Duterte has all the right to be belligerent.  To this day, there is no showing that she has committed any crime in the performance of her duties. All the sound and fury are mere creat

MATIRA ANG MATIBAY

28 August 2024 By Krizette  Laureta Chu 80 year old former President whose adult children are all made for life if they wanted— one is a Vice President, one is a Congressman, one is a Mayor.  If he truly stole from our coffers, especially with so many financial opportunities like the rebuilding of Marawi and Covid, he could have been living the last chapter of his life in the lap of luxury. He shouldn’t be in the trenches, he shouldn’t be limping from one makeshift stage to next, he should be in some sunny beach somewhere eating his durian and drinking his Coke after a fruitful, rich, and meaningful life. And then going home to his new mansion.  He’s 80 years old and he is still fighting.  If they only played the game of politics, they would be spared all this drama. If they played nice and turned the other way—as most politicians do—as the powers stole from the poor, they wouldn’t be struggling. If they were truly greedy Sara would be President now. No question. Life would have been e

28 August 2024 NAG-INUSARA PERO NANGAWRAS 🦅  By Tio Moreno Vice President Inday Sara Duterte recently revealed to the public what has been considered as "dirty tactics" within the House of Representatives of the Philippines.  During the OVP budget hearing, she requested the specific rules being applied, to which the chair, Stella Quimbo, failed to provide a clear response— exposing a lack of transparency.  The situation intensified when France Castro made snide remarks, and VP Sara pointed out the inconsistency, asserting her right to respond in kind. Quimbo objected, but VP Sara continued with her remarks. Subsequently, Arlene Brosas appealed to strike from the record VP Sara's statement that Castro is a CONVICTED CHILD ABUSE criminal currently serving in Congress. Well, it’s not an accusation— it’s a statement of fact.  This series of events led to a chaotic situation in HOR, drawing comparisons to a "House of Cards" scenario, where political maneuvering and

THE LOVE OF A MOTHER

Image
27 August 2024 Tuesday  From Ramon Tulfo  Caridad Teshiba Tulfo went Home at 12:18 pm today surrounded by her loved ones at her bedside. There goes the woman whose utmost empathy and generosity towards the poor we, her offspring, inherited. I recall Mom would let beggars into our home and feed them even if there was not much food on the table for her 10 children. Mom would pawn her jewelry to lend to the wives of my father’s soldiers who cried for help for their sick children.  Most of the loans never got paid but Mom never complained. She would say we were more blessed than the welshers and that it was our duty to share whatever blessings we had. So if you catch me or my siblings doing acts of charity or defending the poor and downtrodden in public these are not put-on. Likas sa amin ang tumulong sa aming kapwa. Mom was a deeply religious woman, a trait most of my siblings inherited. As for me, I’m not religious, I’m spiritual. When we were children she would lead in praying the Angel

BEYOND ELECTIONS

Image
27 August 2024 Lifted from FB  Beyond Elections By Norberto Gonzales  August 17, 2024 It is easy to dismiss the ongoing discord within the body politic as mere squabbles among scheming family dynasties. But the incompetence and excesses of the incumbent regime cannot also be hidden for long. As a consequence, protest groups revolving on varied issues are rising. Old political formations are revitalizing their constituencies. A fresh spectrum of both ideological and nonideological forces is forming and rapidly expanding. Amid the frenzied government expansion of its own political base, a clearer line of division between those for and those against the present government establishment has been drawn. During the People Power revolution of 1986, Cory Aquino, the widow of the martyred Ninoy Aquino, provided the face of the struggle against the Marcos family dictatorship. In 2001, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo the then-vice president, served a similar role in the ouster of President Erap Estrada.
