WARNING? OR A CALL?

Image
By Rob Rances Not Just an Endorsement—A Warning in Disguise? OPINION By Rob Rances If former President Duterte only wanted a guaranteed win in 2025, why not simply echo Sara’s endorsements of Imee Marcos and Camille Villar? Why not unite the 16 million-strong voter base to lock in their seats? Why risk dividing the voting bloc? Unless—this wasn’t only about election math at all. What if Duterte sees something deeper, more urgent, and more dangerous brewing after the midterms? What if his endorsement of Honasan and Querubin wasn’t just political preference—but a veiled warning? A coded call to prepare—not just for Senate control? Maybe this isn’t just a race for seats. Maybe it’s a signal that what happens after 2025 will demand warriors, not placeholders. Stay alert. Stay thinking. This may be bigger than we thought. 🇵🇭 SHARE IF YOU CARE

SMALL CONNECTIONS

Image
Lifted from Nereo Cajilig Lujan SOMETHING PERSONAL — The passing of National Artist Nora Aunor brought back quiet memories for many, especially for those whose everyday lives were touched by her work in film and music. For me, it reminded me of someone special from my childhood – Nene Angeles Miranda. Nene was with us in the 1970s as our helper, during a time when life moved more slowly and our days were shaped by FM radio songs, komiks stories and magazines filled with movie star photos. She was young then, full of energy and warmth, and like many in those days, a devoted fan of Nora Aunor and Tirso Cruz III.  Nene was a true “Guy and Pip” follower.  She would carefully collect clippings and photos from magazines, keeping them like small treasures. It wasn’t just admiration – it was something that brought joy and color to her everyday life. When she later married Nong Pido Laguna, she carried that fondness with her. She even named her children after her idols: her son Tirso, ...

COCOY LAUREL'S GIFT TO NORA AUNOR

Image
Borrowed from Andra Exclusive 24 April 2025 Celia Diaz Laurel: "Surprise!  Let’s begin with this. As confirmed by Ms. Lotlot de Leon, this piece was painted by none other than Cocoy Laurel. Starting from Celia Diaz Laurel, making portraits or paintings has always been the family’s love language. Just imagine the effort poured into a painting like this—pure love and affection captured on canvas. And imagine receiving such a gift? This is actually just one of two paintings Cocoy lovingly made for Guy.  “This one,” Cocoy said, “is dedicated to her National Artist award. The other is for her being the Superstar, MY Superstar.” (Trust us when we say that the story behind the “Superstar” painting is just as powerful.) When you speak to Cocoy, you hardly need to ask questions. Just a few prompts, and the stories flow freely from his heart. “Were you able to show this to her personally?” we asked. His shoulders dropped. “No,” he answered softly.  According to Ms. Miriam Castillo,...

A SUPERSTAR WAS BORN

Image
24 April 2025  Lifted from PH STARS AND STORIES A Legacy Beyond Stardom: The Story of Nora Aunor Nora Aunor was not born a superstar—she became one through sheer talent, relentless passion, and an extraordinary connection with the people. Born as Nora Cabaltera Villamayor in the quiet town of Iriga, she grew up selling water at train stations, her voice echoing through the carriages long before it reached radio waves. She never had the height, the fair skin, or the showbiz connections—only a voice that could break hearts and an authenticity that no camera could deny. Her rise to fame began with winning a national singing contest. From there, doors opened, but she kicked many down with determination. She became the face—and voice—of the Filipino masa. In the 1970s and 1980s, her films dominated the box office and awards ceremonies. She played roles that mirrored the lives of ordinary Filipinos: the suffering mother, the brave worker, the heartbroken lover. In each performance, she p...

NORA AUNOR'S KIDS

Image
Something borrowed CTTO Their life's journey with their late Superstar mother had a lot of peaks and valleys. But these siblings remain kind, humane and affectionate that ensued their good natured trait and well-disposed behavior. ❤❤❤👍 TRIBUTE  As Nora Aunor continues to be revered as a national icon, it is her son Ian who often reminds her of the person she is beyond the limelight — a mother, a woman who has weathered countless storms, and a soul deserving of peace. In his eyes, she is not just the Superstar admired by millions, but the same woman who once held his hand through his first steps, sang him lullabies, and whispered hope into his heart. Today, as roles reverse and he becomes her quiet protector, Ian Deleon shows that true love isn’t about grand declarations — it’s about being there, especially when the world forgets. And in those tender moments between mother and son, we see a love far greater than fame — a love that heals, endures, and transcends everything.

EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS

Image
24 April 2025 By Atty Harry Roque Former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque is considering lodging a complaint before the European Court of Human Rights in a bid to secure the release of former president Rodrigo Duterte from detention. Roque cited an alleged “law” in the Netherlands prohibiting incarceration of individuals aged 80 and above. Roque, who is also a registered lawyer with the International Criminal Court (ICC), plans to invoke provisions of both the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights to challenge Duterte’s continued detention at Scheveningen Prison in The Hague, the ICC’s detention center. “If there is such a law, we can challenge it as being contrary to human rights, as it violates the equal protection of the law. Equal protection of the law means that people similarly situated should be treated alike,” he argued. #HarryRoque #SpoxNgBayan #BringPRRDHome #GabayPartylist

22 April 2025 CTTO from MANUNURI NG PELIKULANG PILIPINO The Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino joins the entire nation in honoring the life and legacy of National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts, Nora Aunor.  The Superstar received the first Gawad Urian for Best Actress in 1976. She would go on to receive Best Actress honors seven times from an unmatched record of twenty one nominations, and be honored as the Best Actress of the Decade three times.  In 2015, she received the Natatanging Gawad Urian for her distinct, singular body of work that, borrowing from Manunuri Tito Valiente, "sustains a high in acting unseen heretofore in this industry." Manunuri Butch Francisco writes that "[a]lthough her magnificent voice initially served as her big ticket to superstardom, it was her performances in the movies that enshrined Nora Aunor as the biggest female iconic figure in Philippine show business... She also dissolved the prejudice against the bakya crowd – so-called because i...

PRRD'S LEADERSHIP

Image
23 April 2025 LEADERSHIP is power without wielding it, was how RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE - without intending to be - became primus inter pares. As President, he belonged to the people, the masa.  Yet, it was he who brought together all 5 of them presidents, deferring to collective wisdom and showing by example that nation-building first requires POLITICAL MATURITY to achieve unity, from the highest echelon of government to the poorest in the hinterlands. Below is a post from Ching Lu.  WHEN THE NATION STOOD AS ONE  There is no other president in this country’s history who had the courage, the humility, and the vision to summon all who came before him - and thank them, not shame them. 🤭 In July 2016, just days after taking his oath as the 16th President of the Republic, Rodrigo Roa Duterte did something rare...he summoned the elders and called for unity. With a nation watching and the world listening, he convened the National Security Council, bringing together all the living f...

IN DEFENSE OF PRRD

Image
PRRD IN DEFENSE OF PRESIDENT RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE By Paulino Misa 22 April 2025 We come before the world today not just to defend a man, but to awaken global conscience to a dangerous injustice — one that threatens the very soul of a nation and the integrity of international law. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte — former President of the Philippines, the most outstanding leader the country has ever known, a true living hero, and the architect of the nation’s dramatic turnaround in safety, dignity, and sovereignty — now finds himself under siege. Not by his people, but by a foreign court whose grasp of our reality is incomplete, and whose investigation appears tragically misguided. This is the same President who delivered peace to once war-torn communities, who liberated cities from narco-politics and criminal capture, who brought fear to the powerful preying on the weak, a nd who elevated the dignity of ordinary Filipinos — especially the poor, the forgotten, and the marginalized. His war ...

FIND PURPOSE IN LIFE

Image
22 April 2025 By Lao Janice Reading this broke my heart to a million pieces. I imagine it broke his family a thousand millions more. It had been more than a month since he was forcefully taken from his people, flown to a foreign soil, and made to suffer the indignity of being assumed guilty whence it should have been otherwise. Since then, the sorrow I felt never left. Like a dark cloud covering the warm sun, his absence made the country a little grayer — duller. Sadder.  I am also angry. The injustice of it all. If he did something wrong, he should have faced trial in his own land.  The cowards! Afraid of a frail, old man.  He may be suffering in isolation, locked up in a cell far, far away, but he is in every one of us Tards. His fight is now our fight.  And don’t be mistaken. We will make our voices heard. We will make sure we will be heard. Even the deaf will hear our cries for justice.  Our votes will make you who sit on puny thrones tremble. You will be fo...

NO GREATER LOVE

Image
Lifted from FRRD SUPPORTERS 20 April 2025 NO GREATER LOVE  On April 11, 2016, in a sprawling field in Taguig City where thousands gathered to hear him speak, Rodrigo Roa Duterte stood before his countrymen and declared, “I am just an ordinary person, but my God, no one can question my love for my country.” It was this same love that moved him to leave the comforts of his hometown and confront the deeper ills that plagued the Philippines he so dearly cared for. It was this same love that fueled his relentless fight against the worsening illegal drug crisis that gripped the nation. It was this same love that compelled him not to turn a blind eye nor a deaf ear to the corruption and plunder that surrounded the national budget for 2025. It was this same love that led him to surrender to his fate, taken unlawfully to The Hague, stripped of due process, and forced to stand before a foreign tribunal, in defiance of what our own laws demand. Rodrigo Roa Duterte has always loved his country...

SASS ROGANDO SASOT

Image
18 April 2025 Friday In 2023, the CIA-overt organization National Endowment for Democracy (NED) released a report listing bloggers in the Philippines who they say are pro-China. USAid also released another one in 2024. Again, I am listed. The second one, I was mentioned six times, more than anyone on the list. The NED report names me as actually the most influential, along with Thinking Pinoy. Of course, Thinking Pinoy is now in the UK.  Rappler and Vera Files are the ones who kept pushing the "fake news peddler" narrative. Guess who were funding them? All of the harassment that I am experiencing right now would end if I would just follow the path of Thinking Pinoy. He hinted at it before in his livestream in January 2024. As I told you, I could just walk into a U.S. Embassy right now and tell them I will be pro-US and all of these would end. But I would rather endure this than to sell out my integrity.  I have been singing the same tune for over a decade. And it's alrea...

DAY AND NIGHT

Image
18 April 2025 Friday  OPINION: What Sets PRRD Apart from PBBM By Rob Rances Leadership reveals itself in crisis—and the difference between former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. isn’t just one of personality. It’s a clash between conviction and convenience. Between action and avoidance. Between leadership that bleeds—and leadership that hides. 1. PRRD Led With Guts. PBBM Leads With Optics. Duterte made hard decisions not for applause, but for outcomes. He confronted issues head-on—even when it meant standing alone. BBM, on the other hand, governs by photo ops and press releases. It’s always about perception first—performance, maybe later. 2. PRRD Had a Vision. PBBM Offers Vagueness. With PRRD, you knew the mission: eradicate drugs, crush corruption, defend the country, and uplift the poor. Love him or hate him, you never had to second-guess where he stood. BBM speaks in vague generalities, avoids hard stances, and waffles when decisiveness is needed...

THOSE WHO BETRAY

Image
18 April 2025 JUDASES AND PILATES A Personal Reflection on a Good Friday By Jassy Egan March 11, 2025 — that night is etched in my memory like a scar that refuses to fade. One of the many videos that flooded the internet showed women crying, shouting, “Sir, ingat ka,” as Former President Rodrigo Duterte was being dragged into a private jet. No clear destination. Just fear. Just uncertainty. Those weren’t just any women. They were his staff. His inner circle. Their cries weren’t simply of sadness. They were cries of anguish. Disbelief. Pity. But most of all—betrayal. The kind that cuts deep. The kind that doesn’t come from enemies, but from those you once trusted with your life. It felt like a punch to the gut. A stab in the back. I knew Sir didn’t see it coming. Not like this. Sure, he’s stared death in the face more times than I can count. He’s walked through fire. Faced demons both literal and metaphorical. But this? Being dragged out like a criminal, flown to The Hague? I could feel...
