BLOODBATH - 2

Image
24 May 2025 MINDANAO JOURNAL  INDAY SARA’S “BLOODBATH” (GUEST COLUMNIST BY Chito A. Fuentes) Rodrigo Duterte once offered a grim warning about his daughter, Inday: She is worse than me. Whatever he meant by that cryptic remark is now taking shape before our eyes. Sara Zimmerman Duterte is no damsel. She’s not here to play house in politics. She’s here to fight with intent, with clarity, and with no illusions. With chilling precision, she said it herself: “I truly want a trial because I want a bloodbath…” The pearl-clutchers and manicured moralists gasped. The term offended their sensibilities. But in the realm where power is contested, where survival demands sharp edges, the message was unmistakable. Inday Sara is coming into this impeachment trial locked, loaded, and unafraid. Let’s break it down for those still sipping prosecco in the imaginary utopia they call “moral high ground.” Bloodbath, in this context, isn’t literal, eejuts. It’s not a call to violence. It’s a warning. A p...

MEN IN UNIFORM

Image
21 May 2025 Source: InfoCebu 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙙 𝙑𝙚𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙩 A Unanimous Vote From The Ranks One of the most revealing results in this year's elections comes from the Local Absentee Voting (LAV) — where Filipinos, mostly in uniformed service, were allowed to cast their votes early (Apr 28-30) due to election day duties. 57,689: total votes cast for 2025 LAV :  29,030 are from the Armed Forces 23,448 from the Philippine National Police 4,206. Government Employees 1,005. Members of the Media So, how did our men and women in uniform vote? In what appears to be a quiet protest — or even outright defiance, not a single candidate endorsed by the administration made it to the top 12. Even Bam Aquino or Kiko Pangilinan are nowhere in the winning circle. Instead, the top picks were all PDP-Laban candidates. Topping the list: 1. Bong Go 2. Bato dela Rosa 3. Rodante Marcoleta 4. Bondoc, Jimmy  5. Lambino, Raul 6. Rodriguez, Atty Vic 7. Jayvee, Hinlo  8. Philip Salv...

THE RESET THAT BROKE THE NATION

By Regal Oliva 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Midway through his term, Marcos Jr. doesn’t lead—he retreats. He asks his Cabinet to resign, like that’s courage. Like that’s vision. But what do we really have? Rising rice prices. Blackouts. Farmlands empty. An embattled West Philippine Sea slipping from our grasp. A Vice President impeached and readied for trial. A nation surrendering its sovereignty to a foreign court—parading one President as a criminal, while that same President buried his father among heroes. This isn’t governance. It’s collapse. You don’t hit reset when the ship is sinking—you steer. But he’s not steering. He’s scrambling. You don’t scrap your team when the storm hits. You lead them. But maybe that’s the truth Marcos can’t escape—he never had a plan. Only a name. Only a seat. And now, the trust is gone. The clock is ticking. And history won’t wait. He wasn’t ready to govern. And now, it’s too late to learn.

BLOODBATH - 1

Image
20 May 2025 By Albertisement When Vice President Sara Duterte said she wanted a bloodbath, the political class gasped. The press ran with it. The critics spun it. But to those who understand who Inday Sara truly is, it wasn’t a threat. It was a promise. A promise that she’s not here to bow, to play safe, or to smile while daggers are being thrown at her back. She’s here to fight—not just for her name, but for every Filipino tired of seeing power weaponized against those who refuse to be tamed. Let’s be clear: “Bloodbath” is a metaphor. A word that cuts through politeness and hypocrisy. It’s not about violence; it’s about truth that will bleed through the lies. It’s about exposing the rotten deals, the hypocrites cloaked in decency, and the masters of selective justice. The kind of bloodbath where the truth spills and the double standards drown. Because what is more violent, really—a woman who dares to speak boldly? Or a system that uses the full machinery of the state to bring her down...

FATAL CRASH COLLISION

Image
18 May 2025 Lifted from Rado Gatchalian  Rest in Peace: Filipino-Australian Woman Among Two Killed in NSW South Coast Collision Two people have tragically died following a head-on collision along the NSW far south coast on Saturday, 17 May 2025. The Philippine Times (Australia) can confirm that Filipino-Australian community member, Chak V Walker, 68, was the passenger who died at the scene. Her husband, who was driving their Toyota Corolla, also perished in the crash. At approximately 1:45pm, emergency services were called to the Princes Highway in Kiah, about 15km south of Eden, where the Corolla had collided head-on with a Toyota Tarago. Officers from the South Coast Police District attended the scene alongside Fire and Rescue NSW, paramedics, and other emergency responders. The driver of the Tarago, a 71-year-old woman, was airlifted in critical condition to Canberra Hospital. Her passenger, an 81-year-old man, was taken to Southeast Regional Hospital in Bega with suspected inte...

QUEST FOR BLOODBATH

Image
17 May 2025 (The day Cynthia and Marty Walker died in a head on collision eventuated in Pacific Highway, Eden) Article written by Atty. Trixie Cruz, LUMINOUS  The VP is pushing her advantage. She knows very well that the statement she made about wanting to go through with the impeachment trial — because she wants a “blood bath” — will be pounced on, bandied and talked about by both supporters and enemies alike.  She’s confident. Her lawyers are confident. She likely believes that a fair trial may be possible, now that she has the numbers.  So now she’s the one shaking the administration’s confidence.  BBM’s statement that he has nothing to do with impeachment smells of handwashing and a full scale retreat. The skirmish between Speaker Martin and Cong. Toby Tiangco also smells like a less cool version of the blame game.  Meanwhile, she knows she can gain more ground while her opponents are in shambles, so she tells Cong. Pulong to consider making a play for the S...

COUNTER ATTACK

Image
16 May 2025 From Mindanao Journal FPRRD’S Counter-attack from The Hague (GUEST COLUMNIST by Chito A. Fuentes) Thus the reason the farsighted ruler and his superior commander conquer the enemy at every move, and achieve successes far beyond the reach of the common crowd, is advance knowledge. Such knowledge cannot be had from ghosts and spirits, educed by comparison with past events, or verified by astrological calculations. It must come from people – people who know the enemy’s situation.” SUN-TZU When former President Rodrigo Duterte was renditioned to that facility known as Prison Scheveningen in faraway The Netherlands, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his henchmen in all likelihood probably clicked their glasses to celebrate. If ever they did, it was premature. Just three months away from the day BBM and his cohorts thought was the beginning of the end of fPRRD, the ground is starting to burn under their feet. The fabled Duterte pushback is in high gear. They pushed the old man a...

NORA AUNOR: INTERNATIONAL STAR

Image
Lifted from MR STAR International critics had also recognized Nora’s acting brilliance. So far, she is the only Filipino actress to have won international awards across five continents. In Africa, Nora won Best Actress at the 19th Cairo International Film Festival in 1995 for The Flor Contemplacion Story, a harrowing portrayal of a Filipina migrant worker wrongly executed in Singapore. Then in Asia in 1997, she won a Best Actress award in Malaysia for Bakit May Kahapon Pa? Here, she played a rogue gunman from the New People’s Army. In Europe, she was honored at the 31st Festival International du Film Indépendant de Bruxelles in 2004 for the romantic drama movie Naglalayag. In Australia, she was recognized with the Asia Pacific Screen Award in 2013, for her silent yet powerful role in Thy Womb. Lastly, in North America, she was honored as one of the 10 Asian Best Actresses of the Decade in 2010. The awards ceremony was done in Hollywood.

WHO WILL HELP ME PLANT THE RICE?

Image
Lifted from THE SHAMAN of MINDANAO SI DIGONG ANG NAGTANIM, SI BAM ANG NAG-ANI This is a post from the former president of the University of Southeastern Philippines  She is too polite to point one thing out: Bam Aquino had been Senator since the time of his cousin's presidency when he was pushing this, but the passage of the Act only became possible when Digong made it a priority (against the wishes of his financial advisers, mind you).  Noynoy refused to fund it, so laway lang talaga ang puhunan ni Bam nun (much appreciated of course, but laway is just laway). The idea only became a reality when Digong insisted it be funded.  So to all these people who keep giving credit to Bam for the free college but who are hating on Digong, pakyu ninyo, you ungrateful shits (Incidentally, I opposed the free college act - as I still do - because I believe the resources are better allocated to improving the quality of education first - faculty development, upgrading facilities, etc. - ...

DAUGHTER DID IT

Image
13 May 2025 DAUGHTERTE DID IT By  Jasmin Egan SALAMAT FPRRD Vice President Sara Duterte returned from The Hague not merely as a daughter visiting her father, but as a political tactician sharpening her blade. Behind the calm of the International Criminal Court’s reception hall, a father and daughter likely spoke not just of legal battles, but of legacy, betrayal, and power.  Rody Duterte, once the scourge of the national oligarchy, now a retired patriarch, met Inday Sara with a silence laden not with sentiment but with purpose. The rekindling of father-daughter relationship was overdue. Yet it was not nostalgia that animated the conversation. It was strategy.  For years, Sara Duterte’s political career played second fiddle to her father’s tempestuous leadership.. She maintained the cool demeanor of a reluctant heir, occasionally asserting herself but never fully assuming command. That has changed. What transpired after those private meetings resembled a military campaign....

WEAPONISING TAXES

Image
26 April 2025 Why the Working Citizens, Middle Class, and Small Businesses Will Carry the Crushing Weight of the Marcos-Romualdez Administration’s Tax Hikes OPINION By Rob Rances The storm is here. And it won’t be the billionaires or political dynasties who will feel its first strike. It will be the workers. The middle class. The small business owners—the real backbone of this nation. I. Under Duterte: Taxes Were Reformed, Not Weaponized During the Duterte administration, taxes were raised—but with a strategy, not with cruelty. The TRAIN Law eased the income tax burden for workers and the middle class. The heavier load was rightly placed on sin products, luxury goods, and non-essential items. And as the government borrowed, the people could see where it went: roads, airports, bridges, jobs—tangible progress that touched ordinary lives. It wasn’t perfect. But at least there was a clear return on the people’s sacrifices. II. Under Marcos-Romualdez: Taxes Rise Without Progress Today, unde...

LET'S TAKES A LOOK ON SINGAPORE

Image
Shared Post from EVincent Alcala SINGAPORE'S NEW PRIME MINISTER 🇸🇬  (A DREAM FOR OTHER COUNTRIES) Singapore has chosen its PM. After four years of strict, tedious filtering and performance index review applied on four outstanding candidates.  Finally, Mr. Lawrence Wong was chosen to take the responsibility as the 4th PM of Singapore.   Mr. Wong, a Double Degree and PhD. holder from Harvard University in Economics, was selected after he received the highest score in Character, Perfomance, Integrity, Quality and job KPI.   Mr. Wong scored ZERO in the following:  1. Public Complaints.   2. Police Traffic Summons.  3. Public Summon.   4. Racial hatred statements.  5. Corruption and Bribery.   6. Legal Court cases.  7. Tax fraud. 8. Abuse of Power.  9. FBI, CIA, Interpol checks.   How about that for determining leadership competency? If the qualifying requirements for a company's CEO are high, th...

ANG TUNAY NA LUHO SA BUHAY

Image

A HOLLOW SHELL

2 May 2025 Jose Alejandrino If the May 2025 mid-term election is not rigged, Bongbong’s senatorial candidates in his Alyansa para Bagong Pilipinas, with the exception of perhaps two candidates, have no chance of making it to the Magic 12. Bongbong already lost Mindanao. In the Visayas, I have doubts whether his candidates will do well. Also in Central Luzon, including Metro Manila. I am sure those in Alyansa must be having the same doubts. That is why the Palace keeps resorting to desperate measures like raiding the Duterte home in Davao and plotting to hand over Inday Sara, Bong Go, Bato de la Rosa and three generals to the ICC. I suspect these are just neo-Nazi tactics to scare them. These will backfire. It will embolden an already angry people to join a People Power revolution. As I keep repeating, don’t interrupt your opponents from making a mistake. Give them enough rope to hang themselves. If the May elections are rigged, it will be even a bigger mistake. I won’t speculate on the...

02 May 2025 Lifted from Aunor List "IN AUNOR OF." Welcoming the month of MAY seems another milestone for the late SUPERSTAR and NATIONAL ARTIST which the Iriga City government promulgated her birthdate May 21 as 'NORA AUNOR DAY" and every year thereafter in her hometown. NUMBERS NOT OPINIONS

Image
01 May 2025 Let’s talk numbers. Not opinions. In the first 32 months of President Duterte’s administration, only ₱1.5 trillion was added to the country’s national debt. (Source: Bureau of the Treasury – ₱5.95T in June 2016, rose to ₱7.45T by February 2019) And during that same period, it wasn’t just about paying debts. There were actual projects—visible, usable, and still being felt today: • LRT-2 East Extension: Viaduct completed, station construction underway • Skyway Stage 3: Fast-tracked to connect North and South Luzon • NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10: Completed and opened in 2019 • North–South Commuter Railway Phase 1: Groundbreaking in February 2019 • Social reforms: Free tuition in SUCs, Universal Health Care, Ease of Doing Business Act And all of this happened within just the first 32 months, halfway through his term. Now, let’s talk numbers again. In a span of 6 years, the Duterte administration paid a total of ₱7.7 trillion in debt servicing: • ₱4.5 trillion in principal (actua...
