Filos Before and Today

Lifted from FB Authored by Caloy Bueno June 22, 2022 Why are many Filipinos (particularly toward the more senior portions of the populace) different today ~ compared to during the years of the yellow rule?   Well, for one thing, those who are older now a few decades ago were younger ~ and striving to make it in life, therefore hard at work to improve their own lots (in the midst of rising competition pressures). They (we) couldn't be bothered with so much politics (which were also different then, more complicated). But the biggest factor was that there was still no really common channel or avenue of expression ~ much of the public discourse was largely 'submerged' or out of/beyond the public limelight (because the limelight or centerstage was always hogged by the big influencers/politicians or glamorous airheads and wannabes), so all the views and opinions of the public at large were "under the radar" whether relative to the leaders/opinion makers or to the rest o

A Meditation on Life

Lifted from Caloy Bueno #PagMayTime ~ A Meditation on Life (first reposted in 2020): Everyone has a purpose in life. Whether or not that purpose is clear to everyone is part of the lifelong process of discernment and self-actualization. The unending search for self-fulfillment takes one on countless journeys on many roads; along the way, one may find some special meaning, some bits and pieces of the purpose of one's existence. We may have our own idea of the desired destination for the journey of our life; however we all end up back to where we ostensibly came from ~ dust to dust, ashes to ashes...   Our existence in human society is defined and influenced by our individual strengths, weaknesses, our past deeds or omissions, as well as aspirations, plans and actions for our own future. We form society according to how we see and want it ~ but we are also formed by society according to the many forces that we largely cannot see or control, until its effects are upon us and we eithe

MASK

By Vic Casq Mask is for slaves! Look at how white races are no longer required to wear mask as seen in the recent platinum jubilee of the UK's queen. But we Filipinos are to be reminded to remain indios/slaves by our very own government as insisted by SOH Duque, DILG Año, and the IATF whom are certified globalists' puppets. As long as the pagan king Philip's name still identify us as people, we hardly exist as a sovereign nation. High time to rediscover our true identity as people!

Phil. Ind. Day 2019 Sydney

Repost June 12, 2019 The longest write up I remembered writing as a DDS Correspondence Staff under the leadership of Rado Gatchalian under a pen name Jana Phez. With Cynthia and Rado Gatchalian, Sydney DDS Leader in Barong, and Renan Legaspi our group's official and professional photographer - during the 121st Philippine Independence Day Night Ball held at Four Seasons Hotel, 199 George Street, The Rocks last June 8, 2019 MY DRAMATIC ENTRANCE TO PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE DAY  When was the last time I personally participated in this supposedly solemn event? If my memory didn't fail me, I believe it was in 1960 when I was in Grade 4. I had the longest poem (I could no longer remember even its title) recited in front of the audience in our town; then it was named, Karomatan which is located in the south-western part of the province of Lanao del Norte in Northern Mindanao (Region X). My best and shortest Independence Day verse was performed in the same place in 1958 when I was in Gra

THE BIRTH OF A FILIPINO AND A COUNTRY

Image
Lifted from Rizaliana Corner: A Rizalist Reflection  THE BIRTH OF A FILIPINO AND A COUNTRY By Rado Gatchalian Jose P. Rizal, born on June 19, 1861, in Calamba, Laguna, is one great Filipino who exemplifies the ideal man, with a sense of purpose and meaning. With great multitudes of his achievements in life, he serves as a perfect model for a life well-lived, not just for Filipinos, but for all nationalities. The Filipino race must be so proud for producing a man like Rizal in a time when our country was oppressed and abused by a coloniser Spain. It must have been difficult for him to speak and write against Spain during his lifetime, but when we read his works, he made it appear like it was so easy. When we read the pages of Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, he bravely exposed the abuses of the friars and the sad stories of Sisa, Crispin, and Basilio. Not everyone could do what he did. Not everyone would have the inner courage like Rizal. Not everyone could have the same disciplin

THEY FOIST THE BOGEY!

Lifted from Edwin Jamora REYNA'S TRANSLATION OF PANELO'S "THEY FOIST THE BOGEY!" I listed about 10 phrases which I thought you might have difficulty understanding. Ganito gawin naten. Divide naten in half. So, eto muna yong first half. 1. Foist the bogey - Foist is to introduce or insert surreptitiously or without warrant 2. Contemplated law - You already know this in Tagalog. 3. Zip the lips - You know this one too! Zip is to close. Be quiet or say nothing. 4. Intimidate into sepulchral silence - Sepulchral is a tomb or interment. Eternity. Intimidate is tinatakot to the highest degree. 5. Specter of prolonged detention - para bang something is hanging in your head. Ganun. So dun sa first half, he is talking about some kind of ghost that was let go off to fool people by explaining to them that there was something inserted in the bill (contemplated law) without any warrant or surreptitiously, to silence critics and human rights activists, and to scare or intimidate th

WEALTH

Lifted from  Romeo Caylo Jr Remember these revelations of Mario Peralta Paraganan, Jr., Senior Bank Officer of Development Bank of the Philippines during six administrations: 1. The late President Marcos, Sr. was the legal Sole Trustee, Signatory, and Administrator of the wealth. That means that he didn't own it; 2. The wealth is not ill gotten and not of criminal origin; 3. The wealth is spread in more than 854 accounts all over the world; 4. The wealth is meant for humanitarian projects all over the world; 5. The Philippines has 70 percent share of the wealth; 6. That is, when the accounts are activated.

COAT of ARMS

Image
Lifted from Kenly Sanity I was just curious how the coat of arms of the most of prominent Philippines institutions have a lot in common.  The Iberian Penensula which includes Castille and Leon(now Spain) during the period of Reconquista 13th-15th Century has these landmark. The Lion and Castle were obvious resemblance to most of our institution/businesses Coat of Arms. What about the Sun and 3 Stars and Eagle? My theory: 1. 3 Stars represents Finance, Religion, Politics/Military like Washington, Vatican, Bank of England. 2. Sun symbolized the Star People(old Jews who claimed to own the Solomon's Treasure but they were the Jesuits who include the Borgia clan. And from my previous post, the newly appointed Pope was Rodrigo Borja (Borgia) as Pope Alexander VI in August 1492 right after Spain completed it's Reconquista and after the mysterious death of Pope Innocent VIII. A week after, Explorer Christopher Columbus sailed in search for the New World but secretly it was the Ophir wh

HUMILITY vs. ARROGANCE

By Jun Abines This loser, senatorial candidate Atty. Luke Espiritu remains dumb not to see the reality. He is still not learning his lessons after the Filipinos rejected him and his kind. He thinks belittling and undermining Atty. Trixie Angeles Cruz will gain him any ounce of credibility. He thinks being over-confident and being judgemental will make him a better person. The truth is, this Atty. Luke Espiritu is a nobody in the eyes of the public. He is nothing but a self-absorbed leftist who live in the past. On the other hand, Atty. Trixie Cruz is not only seen well-loved vlogger, she is also considered as one of the most credible and fair Vlogger in the country. Her humility and down-to-earth demeanor belies the true power she possess as an influncer trusted by millions. Atty. Trixie is like a fagile boat that learned to befriend the wind and get along with the waves. She will be the face of PCOO starting June 30, 2022. Atty. Luke Espiritu is like a wooden hulled pump-boat who stub

THE TWISTS OF HISTORY

Lifted from Jose Alejandrino After Ferdinand Marcos Sr. went into exile, the liberals demonized him to remain in power. They exaggerated the narrative about Marcos stealing tens of billions from the national coffer. They painted a dark picture of martial law. They glorified Edsa as a triumph ignorant of the fact it was a successful CIA operation that was scripted from the beginning to the end. The narrative would have been perpetuated forever had Cory and Noynoy been great presidents with lasting achievements they left behind. This was not to be. Cory’s presidency was marred by military coups because of her government’s coddling of Joma Sison that saw the communist insurgency grow to an epic proportion reaching 30,000 armed NPAs according to a CIA report. She had little to show by way of social and economic reforms. The Mendiola massacre of Hacienda Luisita farmers, the increase in corruption by influence peddlers close to Cory in obtaining big government loans, Cory’s presidency ended

PRRD ERA ENDS

By Caloy Bueno The Duterte administration is finally coming to an end. And while the Filipino people probably cannot fully express enough their gratitude and appreciation for this "promdi political nobody" ~ who in 2016 just up and conquered the Filipinos' imagination and won overwhelming support for the national election that year ~ nonetheless he did give us a government that proved to be the nation's salvation from its long and excruciating spiral into perdition . . .   Maraming salamat po, mahal na Pangulong Duterte, para sa inyong katangi-tanging paglilingkod sa bayan, na naging isang malaking katanyagan at tagumpay ng buong bansang Pilipino!   As you retire (finally?) from public service, you can rest assured that the whole Filipino nation's never-ending gratitude and remembrance will accompany and honor you for the rest of your remarkable life. You are held in the highest esteem and place of honor in Filipino hearts and minds for what you have done for our
